Well as you may have guessed my name is Jasen Anthony. I am a voice over guy. Some would say a voice over Artist or Actor, my spouse says in our house Im the Chief Paper Shuffler. You may have guessed I dont take myself too seriously, but I do take my passion and my mission very seriously. I put all my faith and trust in God and I give him all the thanks and praise. I own and operate Jasen Anthony Voiceovers JAVO. I share my home with my faithful K-9 companions, KC, Mak & Bacon and a few others who are no longer with me, I miss em! Recording my voice was something I dreamed of starting at age 5. Mom bought me a radio shack tape recorder and a cheap microphone so I could make cassette tapes of myself singing. Your all lucky I decided to do voice overs and not become a singer! Well, that passion has grown into a real business with a real purpose and a mission, my mission, my dream!

I believe in paying it forward and random acts of kindness! These are the driving force behind what I do. Performing as a voice actor is an amazing way to make a living and truthfully I dont think of it as work. The people in the VO industry who do all the hard work, those are the writers, creative directors, directors, producers, editors, engineers, mixers and all the people that work for them, they are the ones with the Talent to make it all come together and make me sound so good! God blessed me with a very unique voice, which has a powerful, textured and edgy sound. Now I could go on and on describing my voice and tell ya about all the commercials, promos, trailers, event announcements, pod-casts, video games, in store announcements and a couple character voices I do, but who wants to hear all that, you can just click around on my sites and listen to me. I hope what you want to know is more about my mission, my dream, my training, my Coaches, my equipment and where I do my work.
So here goes, in order to be a voice over guy I had to train, to learn, to be taught. Truthfully I didnt even know what voice over meant when I first got started. What happened was people said I should be on the radio. So I investigated radio but it wasnt for me. So one day my loving spouse said to me, heres an ad for voice over training. So when I looked up voice over and found out what it was, I was hooked. My training started with my now friend and mentor Don Morrow a very talented man who has been doing voice over for more than 50 years. He has been a true inspiration in my life and the best part he lives 5 minutes from me. Anyway, Don and I worked together in private sessions for over a year. Once I was done training with Don I thought it would be smart to continue training with some other Actors, Actresses and Coaches. I mean I had done a little drama in college but I was by no means a trained Actor and truly thats what it takes to do voice over, ACTING!
So I signed up for a 6 week class with Katherine Ryan of Don Buchwald & Associates in NYC and I got to expand my horizons. She opened up my eyes to some things I did great and some things I wasnt so good at. Then at a seminar I went to I met Johnna Gottlieb a VO business Coach. I went to her office thinking my life was gonna change and within a week or so Id be a Voice Over Artist. Ha, ya right!Johnna is great, she immediately sent me to see Jessica Kiljowski of Sam Chwats NY Speech Improvement the speech therapist to the stars. Jessica and I worked together for a few months, re-training my speech patterns. When I was all done I spoke to Johnna and said ok lets go and she said, nope, sorry not yet go work with Joan Baker for a while. Joan Baker is an award winning Actress and Voice Over Artist. I trained with Joan privately for a month and I am glad I did. Finally, now I can be a Voice Over Artist too, right? Well not yet. How about some Acting lessons? Ok! So I found a place called Edge Studio in NYC. I met with David Goldberg the President of Edge. He took a lot of his time talking with me about the industry and about my particular voice and the genre of voice over I should be in. He recommended I work with Actor Jay Snyder. Let me tell ya working with a trained Actor really opened my eyes. He made me think of things a different way.He had me concentrate and perform monologues, and then we took that to the mic. Having a unique voice is great, but knowing what to do with it is even better. All this training, boy I must be a Voice Over Artist now!
